The Geography of Blondes

Blonde hair is made due to low levels of pigment eumelanin. The blonde hair results in a visible hue which depends on many different things including yellow under tones. This colour varies from very light blonde to a red toned blonde colour. On the fischer -saller scale, blonde is under the range of the colour A to 0 (dark to light)


The word "blonde" means :  the colour midway between golden and light chestnut


This term soon rephrased to the word "fair" as it was shorter and easier to say.


Light hair colours mostly originated from Europe
